Garbatella was created around 1920 with the so-called “lotti”: small groups of housing units made up of houses and villas overlooking courtyards and gardens which were originally planted with vegetables and equipped with clothes horses, washtubs, small shops.
Architects and city planners from all over Italy and Europe study Garbatella not just for its historical value and aesthetic importance, but also for its extreme liveableness, which makes it of great relevance to contemporary urban trends. The exhibition will be housed by Libreria 3f in Via Giovanni Ansaldo, just in the heart of Garbatella, an excellent starting point for those who would like to take a walk around the “lotti” looking for the “live” version of the views and glimpses they have just admired in pictures.
